Leak on Boost Line (N54)
OK so recently I've been hearing a hissing sound from my N54 (twin turbo) whenever I get on the gas and get the turbos going. Last weekend I had a check engine light (don't have a code reader). Anyway, I get under the hood tonight to look around for possible leaks and I see some residue around the inlet of the intercooler.
Sure enough, the line going into the intercooler is a little loose. I have the service manual, and it says there is a special tool (order # 11 8 670) to clamp the hose down onto the inlet where there is a snap ring. Well, I don't have this special tool, and I tried with pliers to no avail. Any one ever have to clamp this assembly together without the BMW tool? Any help is MUCH appreciated!
