2001 540iA stereo...8 pics
Ok, here is the list of components:
HU: Clarion VRX935VD Changer: Clarion VCZ625 Front: JL XR525-CSi (front stock tweet left intact) Rear: JL XR525-CXi (rear stock tweet left intact) Subs: 2 - JL 10W6 V2 Amps: 1 - JL 300/4, 1 - JL 500/1 Radar: Escort Passport SR-1 Front sensor in license plate (can see cut out) Rear sensor on bumper Display flush mounted under HU Changer and crossovers mounted in stock changer location Optima red top, EFX cap, flat tire fix (no more spare) in stock battery location Stock Nokia sub box removed Ski bag removed, new shroud to cover Steering wheel radio controls re-programmed for new HU Things to be done: Make cover to cover where stock Nokia sub was, plexi to cover amps and subs with cut outs for heat/sound dissipation and so that I can throw **** in the back, Dynamat certain locations (it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be). Holy crap that's some nice work. Everything is integrated so well. Seriously, that is some great workmanship. I put it a sub and replaced all my speakers, and I thought that was a lot of work with my E39...I can't imagine what you went through, lol. Well, enjoy it!

The sound quality of the W6's is great, you get remarkable sound, without paying the price of W7's. The subs are LOUD. The entire system can be turned up more, and even the subs could be turned up louder, but I like to hear lyrics when I listen to music, not just bass. Honestly, I think that 1 W6 may have been enough, but I like things in pairs, especially speakers.

Hello Samps. This is Platinum. I have a 1998 540i, black on black. I am looking at the Escort sr1 and wonder , how do you like it. Curios as to where you mounted the control unit etc. I would like to see pictures but they are not showing. Thanks
