Idrive / Nav update

2 questions all:

1. Does BMW offer a software upgrade to the newest version of Idrive with the apps?

2. I was told that I needed to bring my car into the dealer to have the Nav updated. Cost $800 because my car has the hard drive (as opposed to earlier 2009's which you could update with DVD's)

I have this from a VERY VERY VERY reliable source... I am about to order a 2013 Z4 35is for European Delivery... I asked about the newest navigation system/software and the response was:

"The Z4 has the same 609 Nav Professional system as all other BMW models, except of the MY13 7 Series and 3 Series Wagon, that come with an updated system. The Z4 will keep its current system until end of production, so no need to wait. Also there will be no aftersales upgrade offered."
