Wow mine happened a day after and I was fixing to post the same thing

Except my concern is that my X5's nail in the tire is much smaller, and its closer to the side wall

is that a concern will that dyna plug still work>

A RFT can be patched just like a regular tire. I had one of mine patch-plugged at around 5000 mi because if a screw. What matters is how close the nail is to the sidewall. Unfortunately I think most tire shops will tell your nail is too close to the sidewall and not repairable. If the nail was farther out from the sidewall the best long term solution would be to do a "patch-plug" which is a patch and a plug all in one. These cover the puncture from the inside and at the same time have a plug that is pulled through the puncture. Use tire rack and a good tire shop in your area for the replacement tire.

I had a nail in my run flat and the dealer repaired it so far it has lasted over a year.

the manufacturer of Bridgestone told me that if you have a problem with the run flat with in 5000 miles you can purchase a new tire for half price
