And of course the best way to be discreet about a mistress is to post on the internet,

There is nothing like a married man dutifully driving a minivan full of kids, get a lot of single women's attention. That was why I said he has a lot to learn.

Dude. Did you just start noticing BMWs?! One of the biggest elements of BMW's heritage is their close family resemblance across the models. The lack of family resemblance with the E60/61 5er and the E65/66 7er was one of THE most controversial aspects of those designs. Whether or not you personally like it it is BMW's heritage. It is not something new.

That is certainly something we all want to aspire to. Unfortunately, it is probably true.

It's more common for a 3 series to leave a dealer lot than a Ford Escort in So Cal. If you want something with prestige you're looking in the rare space reserved by Ferrari, Lambo, Rolls. BMW is not in that world. It's a big, common car company. Yeah, some clown driving a Chevette say, "Ohhh, BMW" but right next to the 3 are 5 SUVs that cost just as much and the soccer moms driving them think nothing of the BMW or the cost comparison.

As for performance, the loaded 42k G37 Sport, that's 6 years old, will stand toe to toe with the 335i. For comparable equipment that 335i's gonna have to be pushed up well above 50k.

brkf, I don't mean to be rude, but were you high when you posted this?!

California bears virtually no resemblance to anywhere else in the world, much less the U.S. (thank God.) $140,000/yr is in almost the top 5% of incomes in the U.S. I would say that qualifies as fairly exclusive territory.

BMW was just recognized at the MOST valuable brand in the world. A vehicle model doesn't have to border on unattainable to possess prestige.

The fact that people equate owning a BMW 3er as a higher indication of wealth (or whatever) than owning a more expensive GMC Denali is a perfect example of the prestige of the BMW brand. And outside of Cali that is exactly what people think of BMW compared to much more expensive common SUVs.

And yet you can't, so you have chosen to buy another more expensive 3er. Gosh, what does that say for the value of BMW compared to the competition.

BMW continues to be more expensive than its competition and yet they continue to set sales records and dominate their market. Apparently the market sees value in those extra dollars.

The first gen G35 was a good deal behind the e46. Second gen G37 was closer to the 3 series, while the e90 became a worse 3 series. says no one other than E46 fanatics. As the F30 has taken another step back in terms of steering/roadfeel, while also growing (yet again), it seems the the G has the door wide open for its next gen. Do you honestly think the next G will be smaller and weigh less than the current model?! The G has continually improved The G is in its second generation and it still hasn't matched the 3er, it has nothing to do but improve, so it seems to follow the next gen G will match (or maybe eclipse) the F30 in performance. Dollar for dollar it seems almost a given it'll be a much better buy.

I've Had 3 BMWs and 4 is on the way. I like the way BMWs feel but trust me I wish I could like the G to pull the trigger as it's just better made and will be cheaper to keep running longterm. The heart wins over logic...

And you point is? Your F30 looks like all other BMW sedans too right? They all have angel eyes, kidney grils, hofmeister kink, similar designed tail light pattern. I saw my first F30 in SF yesterday from behind and without looking carefully, I thought it was a 5 series. From the side, I wasn't too impressed. The car looked like it's made from flimsy thin sheet metal, as if it's a malnourished F10.

All manufacturers maintain similarity between their lines, it's called a signature look.

I kinda like the ATS front more than any other Cadi. They've soften the edges more and will do so on all their new designs. Still not digging the rear and side because from certain angles it's too tall and boxy. A little too bland overall. The headlights has potential and reminds me of the Audi R18 LMS race car. I like the vertical headlight design just not executed fully.

While you are correct they all follow their own signatures, ATS does benefit from being the first gen model, it is less likely to be confused with a CTS.

My point is someone made a comment that the ATS looks distinctive compared to other caddys which is not true. And i posted those pics to show him he was wrong. no **** the F30 looks like other bmws.

You come off sounding like a jack ass by not reading the previous posts.

Enjoy your jetta

Soon to come & way overdue - performance upgrades will include CPU overclocking or replacement followed by add'l memory as smartphone apps integrate.

The meaning of "chipped" will be ambiguous.

Right now, the Germans are beating the American Women's Field Hockey team, so I'm beginning to think a Cadillac would be more fitting.
