Spending 50k and not getting xenons/angel eyes?

For someone that is so image concerned, i would have thought angel eyes would be the first option box you checked.

Outside of this forum who would ever speak of BMW as a prestigious brand or a brand that indicates wealth? Never met such a person. Traveled all over the US, worked on projects throughout this country and the world. BMW is just another car throughout this country (and especially outside the USA where it has no brand cache) but on the forums it's somehow this brand that indicates wealth or importance. Sorry but there are plenty of BMWs sitting in carports leased by customer support reps - I've had some working for me. Vehicles like the Explorer and Grand Cherokee sell over 120k units a year and for average prices over 35k. The Lexus RX, Lexus' volume seller, moved about 90k units last year at an average price over 40k. Is anyone walking around crowing about the RX as a sign of wealth?
The fact that you think you need to be in the top 0.1% to have any prestige just shows that you're way off base. That's fine if you think that way, but for the vast majority of the country, showing up at work in a new $50k car makes you look wealthy. Not super rich, just wealthy. Whether it's deceiving or not isn't the point.

Our CEO drives a 335d, most expensive car in the parking lot. (he also has a Ducati) And this is a high-tech company, not a Walmart.

Oh no! You got me good!

I don't hate anyone, I just feel bad for a few of you. I should make the font on my car history larger. Perhaps it will help you with your witty posts!

With a little effort I could have sealed the deal and got her, would have been a tremendous accomplishment, a hood ornament to top all hood ornaments. If you saw her in the mid-90's you would just die on the spot, she was that incredible. Spontaneous human combustion existed in the presence of this girl.

However, it was clear that she was no genius and was merely going to be a stay-home type, make some great kids, have me sexually satisfied for life. At the same time, I had a friendship with a girl who was incredibly smart and clearly headed for career greatness. Graduated from a stellar university, was on the fast-track for an executive career, sharp and smart as hell, came from a broken home, had a working mom, knew the importance of financial security, was going to have a career as a priority, was going to be an earner. She was (is) cute, petite, soccer/track star, the type of girl that anyone would want as a wife but not the second-coming of Kate Upton.

So on a very important day in my life in the Spring of 1994 I made a very important decision that leads me to everything I have today. And looking back, I wouldn't do it any differently because she makes me very happy and never having to worry about money is a fantastic way to live life. Turns out that trophy kids are more important than a trophy wife and my kids fit that bill perfectly.

So, the answer to your question, it was 90% future earnings potential and 10% physical appearance.

BJ
Suzie Orman would be proud. Ok, maybe she'd have preferred your wife marry another woman, but other than that she'd be impressed.

PS soccer players are plenty hot enough.

I've got angels.....and the widescreen LCD too.....I didn't realize that if I didn't check those boxes the renderings would be inaccurate. I'll go check that out now.

No, I thought BJ did get Xenon. Once you go HID you can't go back.
Just ask that kid with his civic and a 13000k Pink retro kit

At least when BJ goes after someone, there is some thought and cleverness around it. But go on and insult me for my car buying decisions. I am sure you have always been gifted with 60k cars... actually never mind, you wouldn't understand.

You're not worth a thought or cleverness. If you pull it make sure you're ready to use it.
You started with personal remarks about my childhood and I don't even know who the f you are.

Sweet heart, no one made any personal remarks about your childhood. This just keeps getting better. I am sorry I hurt your feelings. Let me pour a cold one out for you on my way to the ricer meet!

So did a couple of my pre-Vendome models.
But yes, of course PP is the Rolls Royce of Haute Horlogerie.

It took only a weeks worth of posts from the party quoted until he said something making his ID worthy of my 'ignore list'; the only one on it I believe. And I'll never forget why that was as I'm always seeing such absolute absurdity and mental dribble quoted in replies from folks engaging him. Why? That, I don't get.

Wasn't this thread once about reviewers comparing the new ATS to the F30?

Honestly it's not a bad looking car, almost reminds me of a Mercedes, but I'd still take BMW.

They were also very good investments. I bought my first, a GMT Master in gold/SS in 1979 for $1,925 and sold it last year for $4,700. Same thing for a watch I had bought for my father which I sold after he passed away two years ago.
The GMT Master II is a tool for me.

I'm late to the party, but I always thought that the Caddies (all flavors) were perfectly appropriate cars for the blue haired lady set.

This is just a rendering, but I would be interested in seeing the ATS-V version. American's are not known for restraint and they'll probably drop the ZR-1 engine in there.
