Car System and GPS shut off for 10 mins

Can anyone explain when I was driving to Spain on Holiday my systems switched off for 10 minutes. The SAT NAV and system completely switched off and a message came up "your system will switch back on in 10 minutes" the MMI screen kind of like stopped the time stopped at 13.18 and the SAT NAV display was just flashing. My instruments was ok the time was still working but I had no NAV on the speedo, it did come back exactly after 10 mins and was fine like nothing happened. I should of mapped the part of motor way I was on but I do think I was driving through some military zone or something.

Never heard of that but it sure does sound crazy.

It probably was a unit on the most bus starting to over heat it can sense once it reaches certain degrees and shuts down to prevent overheating a unit.

Yeah well it was very hot out also the temp was around 38C and I was about 230 mile into the 435 miles I had to travel.
