he just sent me an email, didn't go into the details on exact model. Not pre-sold because he said it was sitting in the showroom and just suggested if I wanted to see the color in person to stop by. If I understand correctly, the only other model available with Midnight Blue is the X6. Mine is due in Baltimore on Saturday. Doubt I can make it in there before the weekend, and with any luck, I'll be seeing mine anyway a few days after that.

Not sure if this is appropriate (if not, sorry). Can you share how much you paid for X1 (compared to RSVP)?

I finally got my vehicle shipping information from my CA, and despite the fact that both the tracking information on-line and the BMWNA 800 number status still have my vehicle "at the port of exit awaiting a shipping vessel" (since 7/27), my vehicle is actually in transit.
It left Bremerhaven on 8/03 aboard the ASTERIA LEADER, which belongs to carrier NYK Line, and not on a WW ship as I had originally expected. It should arrive in Port Hueneme on 8/28, according to the screen print of the vehicle inquiry provided to me by my CA. In order to see what stops are in between, you need a login for NYK Line's website, so I can only estimate when it will be going through the Panama Canal, to try to catch it on the webcam. Based on other ships that have passed through the Panama Canal, and have gone on to Port Hueneme, I estimate it will pass through the Canal on the 19th or 20th. But for now it can be tracked here.

I'm in the Midwest, a few hours from Chicago. The port of entrance is Baltimore ETA 8-16-2012. I don't know how much longer to where I live near Chicago, but I'm thinking another week or so. Then 2 days for the dealership to prep and get it ready. Hopefully, we'll get it by the end of the 3rd week of August. Cheers!

Confirmed today with my dealer that our X1 is also on the Asteria Leader! That's awesome because both the BMW hotline and the website indicated it was sitting in port up until yesterday (the 9th), even though the ship left port on the 3rd. Arrival 8/28, CA says car should be at the lot within 5 days! wooooo!

Asteria Leader has made it through the Gatun Locks and is now moored in Lake Gatun. Unfortunately I did not wake up early enough to see it on the Gatun Locks web cam. It still has to go through the Pedro Miguel locks and then through the Miraflores Locks, before it finally exits the Canal. There is a webcam at the Miraflores locks, so hopefully it will exit the Canal before it gets dark.

Apparently at least 1 X1 (28 sDrive) has been delivered to the West Coast because my CA says that he has one that came in as a lot allocation, not a presold order; it's a base with Premium Pkg.
Not sure how this car came in ahead of my order placed on 6/4. Perhaps there was a June allocation that I missed... Mine shold be here within a couple of weeks as it's on the Asteria Leader, crossing the Panama as I type. |

That's too bad, mine was built the week they started the building July 1 and then sat in Bremerhaven for a month! My dealer gave me one of the dealer allocations so I could get it first, not fair. Oh well.

Asteria Leader
Here is a real-time pic of the Asteria Leader heading toward the Pedro Miguel Locks. It has already passed the Centennial Bridge. (Far Top Right of the Pic.) There are no web cams at the Pedro Miguel Locks. But after that, it should reach the Miraflores Locks within the hour depending upon traffic. That is the final webcam before it heads out into the Pacific.

thanks for the pics. Does this mean that it's ahead of schedule and will reach Port Hueneme before 8/28?
