Hi Guys New Here

Hi guys Im new to the forum, and the proud owner of a new 328d xdrive, as of yesterday. I traded a 2011 328i xdrive. This is the wife's car and she puts about 30k a year on cars (she's in sales). She's reimbursed at .56/mile so the oil burner makes sense.

I was amazed as she came home yesterday from 242 mile round trip 90% NJ Turnpike to find the computer stated an avg mileage of 46.8mpg and she has a heavy foot running 70-80mph. This with a green engine with 10 miles on the odo. I confirmed it later by filling her tank and doing some math yup 46mpg. Amazing

Welcome to the forums. That is some serious fuel mileage there.

Welcome! I believe that your wife is right smack-dab in the middle of the demographic for the 328d. 1/3 fewer stops for fuel is great; she's going to pay off the $1500 price difference in less than 2 years at that rate! My wife loves her new (demo) 328d xDrive, similar mileage.

Welcome! We also just swapped out our 2011 328xi for a 2014 328d xDrive this week. Picked up an executive demo model with 5300 miles on. The vehicle was never titled so still qualified for new car rates/promotions, but also came with a 5 yr/75,000 CPO Elite warranty and a heavy discount. It's not optioned out *exactly* as I would have liked, but couldn't pass up the discount.

Haven't driven more than a few hundred miles -- mostly city -- but averaging in the high thirties/low forties. Given our particularly driving pattern, this effectively doubles the mileage we were getting in the e90 328xi. The monthly savings in fuel will quickly make up for the diesel price premium.

Now it's a matter of locating the Chicago stations that sell pure (non-bio) diesel, and thanking the station managers at every opportunity so they continue buying the real stuff.

Headed out to NJ in two weeks and will clock ~2,000 round trip. Look forward to seeing what kind of mileage we get.

That's exactly the same (Elite demo) as the car my wife bought - had Premium and black interior and she would have opted for a beige leather interior and saved $1500. But she likes the kick-to-open with comfort access now that she has the car. Congrats!
