How rare is 7 series in US

I was in US last week. Drove through couple states. All in all did 3000+ miles. Only saw 3 7 series in total. Just how rare is this car in US? On my previous trips to US I never noted whether I saw one or not but this time it really bugged me to see this few as I definitely saw more than 20 S series and at least 10+ A8s.

you sound like a real pecker, depends on the area you are in. I see more Ferraris by me than 7's.

Hah! Nice 1bad! And around my area, they're a dime a dozen. Everyone has one.

How rare is 7 series in US

See maybe 1 or 2 other F01s in my area of LA per day. Back at my other place in FL i dont think ive ever seen one. Generally an uncommon car.

For the price you pay for a 7, most people seem to opt for something else.

I think all big cities have an abundance of all high end cars. Especially true in NY,CA,FL. Miami has no such thing as rare, there is exotics on every corner!

They are definitely more of a rare breed. When I'm in LA I'll see 3-5 per day maybe, but compared to the 15+ S Classes, and plethora of A8s(or were they A4/6's??). Out in the suburbs I see even less, there are days I wont see another one at all.

The firmer ride and the run flats make a harsher ride, and that might turn off the typical flagship buyer, in that age group I probably would want something a little on the softer side too, and our cars are more sporty and firm.

It depends on where you live and where you go. I live and work in downtown Chicago. No one else in my building has a 7 series. There's one guy in the parking garage near our office with an F02. I also work near one of those business clubs and they have a couple of 7s parked out front fairly regularly. I have a couple of friends in the burbs with 7s. I definitely see a lot more S-classes - 2 of the latest model in my building already and a handful probably every day just out on the road. In addition, it's also more rare to see an F01/F02. The prior model seems to be the most common 7 series that I see on the road on a regular basis.

Since I have been actively checking out cars I haven't seen 5 on the road in Iowa.. I have seen two that I can remember... That is F01's. I have probably seen 10 E65's. In two years.

I'm in Norcal and don't see the 7 at all around here. I saw an Alpina a couple months ago, (I should clarify, I see a ton of older 7's, E65 series) on the freeways, but newer 7's, not so much. In 6 months I would estimate I saw 3-5 F01's on the freeway. Definitely the 5 and 3 series are EVERYWHERE....

+1 on the S class, I see a bunch of those around! Silly Mercedes....

I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago, rarely see a 7 series. Work downtown Chicago, see a few more around the office, but still rare, maybe every other week. Tons of 5 series and S Classes, some people cannot tell a new one from a 7. I even see more A8s, though they supposedly sell in even lower numbers than the 7.

Also have an office in Northern California, a 7 is a pretty rare car to spot in Silicon Valley there. I even see more Teslas than the 7.

I think this does not bode well for the BMW flagship, is it becoming more obsolete with gas prices and better options? I think I have seen sales figures for Canada that only a couple dozen 7s are sold each month. Is this true? I am in Canada next month and go there every year, never see many.

SW FL here. Plenty of S550s and older 7 (E65). Not too many newer 7s.

When I DO see another F01/02, it's usually a much more "mature" demographic.

That said, saw a 7 with the aftermarket LED angel eyes and almost freaked out. Modded luxo barges are rare around here.

Still somewhat rare here in San Diego. Maybe only 1/day if that. S Class Mercedes are all over the place.

My thoughts exactly. I'd love to see sales figures for S series vs A8 vs F01/02. I drove in IA, WI, PA, IL, MN, NY, OH, IN, CT, MA. So I'd say this was an extensive trip. In any case I saw tons of 911s, panemeras, ferraris. Hell more Bentleys and Lamborghinis than 7 series.

In Houston there are 7 series all over. Not an uncommon sight at all.

Pretty rare up here in Vancouver but you see tons of 3 series, 5 series and X5's.

I see 2-3 a week here, mostly the older models. Gonna have to keep my eyes open for the new MB, haven't noticed any lately.

I see 30-50 S550's for every 7 series I see on the road. I love it, and after owning an S550 and knowing how much I hated it it makes me smile every time I see one....

I don't see why people prefer the S? The 7 seems to be more reliable and has a better resale value. It's probably more fun to drive too.
