Obviously even a simple tune can get this car down to under 4s, but that is NOT stock.

And you're forgetting the major weight difference on the s8 - deliberately?I won't even mention the torque trustability.
Sorry, no tune on the M5s, just measured U.S. spec M5 results as tested by Road & Track and Car and Driver. I guess you are claiming European M5's are slower.

As far as the S8. I had no issue with your claimed weight, so there was no reason to repeat that fact since all of you other data was wrong and needed to be corrected.

I'm not sure what you mean by your torque remark. Torque is measured and horsepower is derived from the torque measurement. If you don't believe the torque numbers, then the horsepower numbers are meaningless.

Sorry CABimmerNation, but I had to comment.

M5 does 4.2? Is that o-100km, or 62mph? What I have read from US mags are all under 4 sec to60.

Though it shouldn't matter as much since you've been recently "hammering it", but you should try the transmission program reset. I forget the exact sequence, but it's posted somewhere on this and other forums.

You should get a may get a more "perky" throttle and shift action since it will dump any slushy learned behavior. I'd at least try it.

All passes were done in the Sport + mode, temperature 85* & approximately a half tank of gas.

Stock – 400HP, 450 lb-ft torque>>
I did 4 passes and the times were pretty consistent. My first run is slower because I let off the gas right before crossing the line, rookie mistake.

Stage 1 – 495 HP, 573 lb-ft torque>>
The car ran ever so slightly faster as you can see from the numbers. This was very disappointing to say the least. One would think that after adding 95 HP & 123 lb-ft. torque the car would do better than 2/10ths of a second faster in the ¼ mile. The car had about 1/8 less gas than when I did the "Stock" run, so I attributed the slight gain to having less gas. 60-80 lbs could account for this. Assuming something went wrong with the install, I took the car back to the dealer to have them check it out. Their computer said that the program was in fact installed correctly on the car and that they saw no problems. The dealer re-installed the program again to see if it made any difference. The dealer was still not sure of any significant difference. After some research we discovered that the x-drive cars may need to have Stage 2.

Stage 2 – 501 HP, 580 lb-ft torque>>
When I went to pick up the car, I drove a stock 750Li x-drive car then immediately got into mine. I thought the car pulled much harder in 1st and 2nd gears. Before I went to the track I put 6 gallons of gas in it so the fuel level was the same as my first trip to the track. Again, as you can see the results are very disappointing. I really don't know what to think anymore.

If my emory serves me right, his car was totaled and DINAN would not add the software to his new car..which is BS in my opinion. For 3500 bucks dinan should have some sort of tranfer guarantee? More like you pay a memebership fee and you are allowed to use the software on any BMW titled in your name.

Re: 750Li xDrive vs. Stage 1 vs. Stage 2

Trying to explain or even be rational about spending $3000 and not being able to see the difference on paper is mind boggling to me. If Burger Tune is $350 and matches the numbers of Dinan, I'll order mine today. Looks like your only paying for the name.. At least at $350 for more "noticible" hp and torque seems to be a much better value. I don't track my car but I drive the **** out of it on the highway and I'm sure it will be noticeable either way if your happy with the feel though, more power to you!

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed when I called Dinan and told that my car was totaled and that I only had the software about 8 months. They said sorry about your luck, maybe you can shake down the dealer for a discount. Pretty shabby if you ask me. I wouldn’t give them another dime.

As Paul mentioned, I did purchase the Burger turner and it “feels” as good as my Dinan stage 2. After I get some miles on the car I will head to the track for some hard numbers. I plan on unplugging it and running 3-4 passes then plugging it in and doing another 3-4 passes. I’m looking forward to it.

Yes please let us know. Planning on ordering very soon... For $350, can't go wrong. Once my warranty is out, may download some serious work to mine. Upgraded turbos, intercooler, etc...

Your new car is lci though so it's has already more hp stock, plus the mild tune - btw, I assume it's works fine on the TU engines? - makes it's most likely feel close to dinan tune on the old engine.

A buddy of mine wants the burger tune on his 2013 , we're looking for ways to order it from over here.
