Question Odometer covered up???

I wonder if anyone has any advice about the little window where the odometer and trip meter are on my Z3. A screen pops up in front of the odometer saying something about oil change when you start the engine. It is suppose to go back down but one day it did not. Now I cannot see the mileage. The screen is blank now but I can see the digital numbers of the odometer shining back there behind the screen. I disconnected my battery in hopes of resetting it, but that did not work. Any ideas out there?

Perhaps resetting the service lights?

For the proper tool, you could
1 - try http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/ele...ce_lights.html
2 - buy a Peake tool, http://www.peakeresearch.com/
3 - try one of the cheaper ebay tools. Goto http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_...506.m270.l1313
