thanks X2. I looked at the trans filter package. Is the transmission pan and filter built as an assembly. Look at the larger picture in this link. http://www.idparts.com/catalog/produ...oducts_id=2989

I know it's BMW but $150 ? Only makes sense if you're chunking the old metal pan (which is dumb).

It looks like the filter element is integral to the pan in that photo.
