Mein Auto: bmw 545i
2005 545- Rough Idol Issues

Hi folks,i have a 2005 bmw 545i.when engine is cold and i startup it starts nicely and after about 5seconds it starts to sputter and idles roughly.also i smell fuel.the check engine light flashes for about 20 seconds and becomes solid.when i turn it off and start it right back it gets a bit stable.after pulling out the drive way it drive very smooth except at the stop light then it starts idling roough.i raced it once for about 5mins on the freeway doing at least 180kph and then i stopped it idled smoothly for about 10mins and began shaking again.any help here plsssssss.

Most members would be surprised to hear it gets cold in Ghana. You'll have better luck posting questions in the respective model forums.

I will start from fuel filter, then fuel pump. also do the clean injectors, also check air mass sensor.

My fuel pump is fine.where is the filter located?vacuum leak?will check now.i smell a lot of fuel when i start up in the mornngs.i suspect my injectors are leaking too much fuel

Fuel filter as part of one fuel system sensors and located inside the tank and can access by puuling the rear seat. The smell it seems to me you have vapor system doesn't work right.
