Split-View Option

Would BMW benefit by incorporating the 'split-view' feature in its media screen as Mercedes Benz offers?

Hm, I thought BMW's had that feature. I'll check my car later this morning.

Are you talking about the Hybrid view? I think Range Rover has it also. Drivers side sees NAV whereas passenger sees a DVD playing. And yes I agree, i wish it was an option.

you guys are missing the point. He isnt talking about split screen (ie radio on left, nav on small right screen). Mercedes has SPLIT VIEW which allows the passenger to view for instance a movie on the entire screen while the driver can view the NAV on the entire screen (same screen), and listen to the movie audio track via headphones.

Since the pixels are angled I suspect the person sitting in the middle back seat would see a dark or obscured view much like a privacy screen on a laptop.

Cool technology though. I wonder if MB owns the patent or is simply licensing.

Split view is only reserved for the CL and S Class. Even if BMW were to get it, it may be just be for the 7 to begin with. F10, many years later.

Cool feature though.
