Are these red lines normal on the rear windscreen?

I just got my car a few days ago and just got it tinted today, I'm wondering if these red lines were there before the tints or whether they are part of the tint film? If they were there before I probably missed them due to the glass being clear

Those are the rear window defroster and various antennae. Yes, they were always there.

Looks like the rear window defogger to me. The tints probably just made them stand out more.

They're going to look like that on any car, BMW or otherwise, that has a rear window defroster (virtually every car in production these days) and window tinting.

In case you didn't know what the defroster is for - it makes the car more comfortable to push in winter.

These lines are structural weakness in the window from an interaction of the window tint with crystalline molecules in the glass itself. The process of adhering the tint to window has damaged your rear window at the quantum level and it is now in danger of cracking should any force greater than the tensile strength of the crystal structure be put upon in it with a short enough impulse. You should immediately take your car to the dealer and request a new window be installed at no charge since this is obviously a defect in the OEM part itself! Don't let the dealer say any different, be firm with them!

In the 1960's and 1970's (and maybe even before that) prior to the introduction of in-glass defrosters, some cars had fans on the rear parcel shelf that blew air onto the inside of the rear window. They were noisy and didn't work very well.

I thought the windscreen is in back of the front seats in a convertible?

My 1978 Camaro did just that. It had a blower installed in the rear package shelf.

You've never ventured far from home have you? Bet you didn't know that the hood covered the passenger compartment, while the bonnet and the boot covered the engine and rear storage respectively.
