As far as the superbowl goes though, I hope the 49ers win. If Baltimore wins, we are guaranteed 30+ minutes of television showing Ray Lewis talking about how he didn't win the game, Flacco didn't win the game, but it was god pulling all the strings.

A couple of critical things that hurt Pats: Welker's dropped third down pass for first down yardage, losing corner Talib, and I don't know why Brady didn't try to run for that first down late in the game.

Plus not calling a time out in order to get time to reset and run it in for a TD instead of settling for a field goal in the first half.......... I hate it when they do this.

I think Brady needs to be fined for raising his shoe towards at Ed Reed's crotch, or whatever it was, after the slide, it was dirty and dangerous. When I saw it, I couldn't believe that someone of his calibre would do that.

Very Suh-like of him. That play, and the play where he basically used an official as a human shield to avoid a hit really disappointed me.

They could have used Gronkowski on Sunday. I also was appalled at Brady's Suh imitation. Maybe Belichick is rubbing off on him. Belichick blew off the customary press interview after the loss. A small thing perhaps but added to a career of dick moves it's telling.

Wilson wins NFL rookie of the year, voted by hundreds of thousands of fans (and he's in a very small market)

RG3 wins NFL rookie of the year judged by a (vested) panel of 50 from the press.

I don't think either carries more 'weight' than the other but for Wilson to win Rookie of year in such a small market (while tying the NFL Rookie Record for TD passes held by Peyton Manning) is an incredible feat!

Previous QB winners in the NFL Rookie of the year were Vince Young, Cam Newton, and Big Ben.

Just watched the game. I was off on a major adventure - flew to Cabo to spend 4 days with an old friend who lives in nearby Todos Santos and then helped her drive the length of Baja and back to my house - she went on up to NorCal to attend to the birth of her first grandchild. Baja - whoa muchachos, aye carabmba, etc. WHAT a drive. Two lanes, no shoulder for about 98% of the way. We'd pull over and it would be 5 minutes before a car went by, and this on the main highway. Scenery like I've never seen. Big rain last Nov. so it was green.

Anywho, I recorded the SB, just got home today, managing to maintain total blackout. Wild game. Glad the niners redeemed themselves. I wish they could have executed better play selection on that last stand at goal. Oh well.

Alex Smith likely to KC. They could use the help.
