Those welds do not look good.

Mein Auto: 2008 535 xi, 2007 Mini S,
I have that exhaust or one that looks very much like it. I got it from Umnitza for 699!! I have it on my 535 xi and I can tell you it did NOT fit without some refabrication. I think it sounds great, the welds on mine are a work of art. Funny, the EBay advertisement says its for a V6 BMW.......really?

That stuff is a fake exhaust on the right side. Do it right with a dual. Cut out the center box resonator (y pipe) put in an x-pipe, and pipe it back to both side with either cherry bombs or turbo tubes (so that it will fit on the battery side), and then quad out of your choice. It will be more expensive then $200 but nowhere near $700.

It isn't a fake exhaust! It uses one muffler on the left side, it has two outlets. One outlet is adjacent to the muffler itself, the passenger side pipe comes out of the muffler and just happens to go over to the passenger side to dump. It is not fake! Where I live we are very remote, no one around here to do all that pipe work and bends and such. I did manage to modIfy what they sent me and made it work. It is NOT for an xi, don't let Umnitza tell you otherwise!

From the pics, I assume that more exhaust would come out from the left side (driver) than on the right side (passenger) since there are shorter distance to travel which in the end is still not balanced. But it probably does not matter much.

What affects the exhaust note is how the sound is chambered inside the muffler. Is the muffler insulated and how is it chambered? I have dog ears, and I can tell the different sounds from different mufflers. Unlike the stock which is perforated, chambered, and insulated, most aftermarket mufflers (cheaper ones) are usually not perforated and therefore typically not insulated. They will typically be chambered and not straight-through particularly in large mufflers like the one pictured.
