N62 545i Intake Manifold Nuts

2005 545i N62 B44A

Recently pulled the intake and found many of the nuts (especially on the right side / passenger side) finger tight. It was obvious the intake was leaking from the discoloration around the ports. According to Bentley the intake should be torqued to 22Nm / 16.2 ft. lb., really? Using only a crown nut, no lock washer, loctite,...? Anyone know how to keep the nuts from backing off? Makes me want to uset a lock nut or something like an old poly lock.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Per BMW TIS, Bentley info is verified correct.
How about some blue loctite?

Good Luck/Bill

Thanks for the confirmation / suggestion Wgsoma. Loctite, permatex and many other brands I know and trust are hard to come by here even with internet. Sometimes there is a translation so to say (looks like Ligui Moly has a counterpart to blue Loctite). Leaning towards a nice flat washer, lock washer with Loctite / Lqui Moly. Probably the later as it will be easier / quicker to find here. Don't really feeling like re-torquing intake manifold nuts regularly.

Finger nail polish (paint) works great

Hi A B Able Truck,

I've enjoyed your threads, thanks for the suggestion. Late last night searched Amazon Germany and found the blue loctite. Ordered it but it won't arrive until 1st or 2nd week in December. Probably should have gone local and just picked up the Ligui Moly counterpart. Old habits are hard to break.
