Immoboliser problem

I have a 1995 318is BMW. My car won't start and I know it's the immoboliser because all the lights on the dash board comes on when I turn the key. My driver side door lock doesn't work but my passenger door lock work and I used too unlock the passenger door, unlock driver door and the my car would start everytime until last week when my passenger door assembly broke off and now my car won't start. I'm putting on another passenger door assembly, maybe driver side too but most definitely, passenger side first. Question: shouldn't my security LED alarm light should be on if immoboliser is activated? Oh yea, my car was made on 2/95 so it has the EWS1 module, right?

Does the engine spin when you turn the key? If yes, it's something beside the immobilizer. The immobilizer disables everything...starter, fuel pump, ECU spark control, fuel injectors. Nothing works when the immobilizer has been tripped. You turn the key and all that happens is the dash lights up. You have no engine movement at all.

A no-start condition can be caused by many things, and I doubt very much it's your immobilizer. Yes, the LED should be blinking if the immobilizer were activated. LEDs are just about bulletproof. VERY rare for one to fail.
