Extended warranty for a 2013 550 ix

Hi has anyone gotten any prices on an extended warranty for 2013 550ix? I just received a quote for $4,600 for an additional three years or 70,000 miles. Or, $5,434 three years, 100,000 miles Thoughts?

Way too much. Not worth it. Save the $ towards the next car.

There are three different extended warranty plans

Platinum (top)
Gold (second)
Powertrain Plus (basic)

For 2013 550i I was quoted for Platinum:

6 yrs/100k miles - $5170
7 yrs/70k miles - $5280
7 yrs/100k miles - $6320

Another dealer quoted: $4020, $4130, $4880 respectively.

You can see the differences from dealer to dealer. If you are going to get the warranty, Platinum is the way to go as it covers everything, drivetrain, navi, and all electrical components. I hope this helps you shop it with your local dealers.

I would say put that money aside and invest it for future repairs if needed and/or more money towards a new car. That's like 30% too much for either choice IMO.

No need to damage any brain cells now .... the extended warranty decision can be made in 4 years or 50K miles at the end of the original warranty.

How do you know you will keep the car or whether it might be wrecked or lemoned ..... or worse!

Thanks everybody for your feedback, I think I'm just going to think about it wait a while, but I typically keep my cars ten years plus.
