E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Stolen 1 series in Europe??

I had read recently that there have been many 1 series bmws stolen in Europe. Apparently thieves have broken the code to the new electronic key. What's up with that?

It is ANY BMW that uses an electronic key fob. To make matters worse, it is possible to break into some models without setting off the alarm. While the problem is widespread in parts of England, I found evidence it is also happening in the US.

I started a thread on this topic in General BMW back in March:

That's why you pay for insurance. Cars are not secure. Any expectation of security with a car should be replaced with an expectation at some point your car will be stolen.
