Seems high to me. 2013 models are already out, so I would be very aggressive with an offer (particularly regarding the 528i). Based on my experience with BMWs, expect a minimum of 20% depreciation after the first year. If it were me, I'd leave the 528i alone and go for the X5 and offer them $45K OTD.
Good luck!

You could have gotten close to that price when the 2011 was new, not 2 years old. This sounds like a total ripoff. You should be able to get a new, 2013, car for about $500 over invoice.

i got a brand new 2012 535 msport for $8K off MSRP. with only 7 miles on it.. with that many miles and it being a 2 yr old car i wouldnt consider it unless it was ~$15K off MSRP. dont look at it like your buying a new car; your not. your buying a used car. according to KBB this car; if in excellent condition is worth $43K..

The prices seem really high for a 2 year old car/truck. Another thing to consider is that as a demo that car has had a pretty brutal life for quite some time. It never had a proper break in and was punished on test drives while still cold. I would not purchase if you intend on holding for another 250k (I would never plan on buying an f10 for that long anyway- it will be a fortune to maintain).

So does the warranty coverage start when you buy the car? Are they going to add 14k miles to the end of the coverage? My guess is that you will have 4 years but only 36k miles left. It's not really a fair way of looking at it but what would a used 2011 528 with 14k miles on it be worth on Edmunds or KBB? That is the number I would start from and gradually work up.
You can guarantee those were a tough 14k miles for sure. I think I would pass unless the dealer becomes motivated to sell. Good luck. |

Dealers like to make a big deal out of demos like they are something special. They're really not. They're just another used car, probably worse than a 1 owner who likely treated it better than the GM or the loaner drivers who had it and didn't give a ****.
A lot of times, a dealer demo can't be eligible for CPO since it hasn't been titled. Manheim Auction states that for a 2011 528 with about that many miles, the auction price (hammer price) is between $36k and $38k. Add auction fees, transportation, reconditioning and profit, and your'e looking at $41k to $43k. $47k is WAY too much money.

Walk away. You can get a brand new 2012 528 with the new more powerful turbo motor for alittle more than that.

The sticker on my car was near $63k and I got it for a little under $49k and it was new on the lot. It was year end clearance and it is a 6mt.

![]() But my budget right now is around mid $40K and under (and that is for OTD). I know i should get a 3 series for that budget but 3 series kinda small and the material feels a little cheap compare with 5 series. And yes, i am planning to run it until it died (like a current one right now) I am only 23 right now so that all i can do.....

I saw a few of those when I was car shopping. The reason they let them go so cheap because manual transmissions are hard enough to sell. A manual with no sport pack makes absolutely no sense. Why would they build it like that??

There were LOTS of issues with the 2011's. I would rather buy a 2012 with less options than a 2011 fully loaded. What are the options worth if you don't enjoy driving the car??? (Pulling to the right, jerky acceleration, less powerful engine, etc.) I'm sure you can get a brand new 2012 for about the same price right now.

6MT pricing is not representative. 6MTs are notoriously hard to sell and sit on lots for ages. Most dealers don't order them, so they usually are on the lot because a customer ordered and cancelled.
