Summer Trips - Pictures - share yours too!

So we took our first trip to Canada to drive the famous Cabot Trail.

I must say the GT was a pleasure to drive and, as you'll see from the MPG picture, we managed to cover roughly 2300 miles in 5 days and I never once felt uncomfortable in the car.

The efficiency of the car is incredible..considering I drove pretty much at or above 80mph the entire trip...towards Halifax (where we spent a night) I pushed it to 100mph for a good hour and the car felt as solid as ever (and no speeding tickets were collected either).

We drove to Bar Harbor, explored Cadillac Mountain, Halifax, Baddeck, Cabot Trail, Bay of Fundy, Saint John and back to Connecticut, in that order.

I've attached few more pictures.

The Bald Eagle shot is priceless. We took an hour long cruise in Baddeck and got to see Alexander Graham Bell's house (and island). The boat captain (John) has an interesting arrangement with the bald eagles where he takes out a frozen fish (mackarel or something better), we get spotted from miles away, and the eagles come out for the feast!

Great shots! I took the exact trip back in 1994 with my wife and 3 kids, and drove it in a 1992 535i. I started in Montreal and drove from there to Bar Harbor. I assume that you took the ferry to Yarmouth, NS. I understand its now a high speed ferry. When I took it, my whole family was ill from the voyage... Long ago.

I do have a great old friend living in Halifax, perhaps its time to go again, this time in my GT.

We couldn't take the ferry as the schedules didn't jibe, only had 5 days to complete this entire trip so had to keep on going and going.

The highway that leads to Halifax is great at assessing the GT's abilities, I'll leave it at that. I "conveniently" misread the Kilometer speed limits as "Miles Per Hour" and added 20 more for good measure....good times indeed!

Halifax was great to visit, spent a night eating PEI mussles at Maxwell's Plum PUB and enjoying some local brew, and got to see the Tall Ships.....

Definitely take the drive...
