I anticipate a lot of questions, so fire away. This is a brand spanking new program, so some details have yet to be resolved. The obvious questions at first probably have to do with financing/leasing. BMW Financial Services will advance up to the full MSRP for these new accessories. What is "residualizable" remains a question. In other words, these items can be added to the selling price/capitalized cost, but in many cases, they cannot be added to the MSRP for determining lease residual values, or the amount that can be added is not the full MSRP amount. A few examples would be the exhaust system, for which $400 can be residualized. For the wheel set, the residual "adder" is $550. This program is so new that a conclusive list has yet to be published...

I just ordered yesterday, would i be able to add the black grills, and would it just raise my lease payment by 6bucks?

Basically i dont want to pay anything out of my pocket when i pick the car up(bmw is swapping me out due to avoid lemmoning the car) and could they just add the price to my lease?

Sure, no problem, the kidney grills can be added to your monthly lease payment.

back in the day with the port program, BMW did not include the original "take off" parts when they released the car to the dealer, is that still the case? If so, buying the wheels through the port installed program is a bad option since you lose the factory wheels which you would have been able to keep for various uses... winter use, kept to revert back to stock at some point in the future, sold for $$, etc.

The residualized PE option is a great value. This makes the F30 328i much more appealing. Hope to see some PE sound/video clips soon.

Jon, forgot to ask, can these parts be installed on a base 328i, or is the sport line or m sport required?

I need those 20" wheels.
Can you quote me for 52 sets, I figure that would be a one year supply in NYC.

Fantastic news! I will def be getting them, i will call my dealer on monday and hope that he knows what im talking about lol.

As for the performance exhaust, i heard that its not a whole lot better than the stock, only 25-30% better. I have yet to hear the stock 335 exhaust but i have to imagine it sounds nice. What are your thoughts on the 335 stock exhuast and have you heard the 335 performance exhaust, if so thoughts?

I did not see a set of chrome kidney grills in my new car...

I don't think that the take-offs will be supplied to end-users... I do wonder where they will end up, though?

Is the Performance Exhaust available for 328i or just 335i?

Hmm I'm lost as well. If the paperwork for the car has been done, and all you are waiting for is the re-delivery (from ED for example), can you still do this program, or is it too late?

I know the GM at my dealer is going to be clueless on this when i bring it up to him lol

What did you do paperwork wise for this to ger the grills john? Any special forms or anything?

That's the best part -- no more fax-back forms with the new program; it's all in the vehicle ordering system in DCS...

The grills should be do-able on either the 328i or 335i. I haven't tried to add an exhaust on 328i; I'll have to look and see if it is selectable for a 328i the next time I am in the system.

I have an ED customer who is going to add the stripe and brakes after Europe, before final delivery.

Based on my personal experience, if I was going to add an exhaust system, my #1 choice would be the Corsa. I have the RSC (Reflective Sound Cancelling) on my M3, and it is simply outstanding. No baffles, none of the dreaded drone that usually goes hand-in-hand with aftermarket systems. Quiet when you need it to be, and a screamer when you really get on it... I couldn't be happier with mine. Reports on the BMW muffler is that it is relatively tame (quiet), which I am sure many people will like. For me, the whole reason for a custom exhaust is to make it noticeably throatier/meaner, and I am not convinced that the BMW system would give me that. I suspect it is much like what we have some to expect from makers like Super Sprint.

Jon Car looks awesome I would order the same car in a heart beat if it's a lease but I want to buy the car.. Please
Advise if 20inch wheels add value compared to 19 on sports and how much more it costs. Thanks appreciate the forum it helped me a lot but sad part I want to drive 335 and couldn't get to own one first time I drove the 335 it's like getting a cargams... Man it awesome ....

Yea, that sounds pretty much in line with what i have been reading. I dont plan on doing anything aftermarket due to it being a lease. So i will just sit back and hope the stock 335 exhaust sounds good. Or at least as good as my E90 N54 exhaust sounded.

Wheel selection is a very personal thing. The trend over the last 10-15 years has been bigger, bigger, bigger. Personally, I am quite satisfied capping the wheel diameter at 18". When you start getting into 19's & 20's, the extra cost in rubber goes way up, and the ride of the car actually suffers (since there is practically ZERO shock-absorbing sidewall). I could easily have selected the optional 19's on this car; price was not a concern. I just think that anything over 18" -- unless you are talking about a truck or SUV, is a bit of overkill...

I was just watching T.V. and a Ford commercial came on. The female buyer/subject was bragging that her new Ford car, "Has 20's on it it. I don't even know what that means, but I guess it is cool," she says...

Awesome, Jon please add the PE on a no-line 328i see if will work.

A base no-line 328i with DHP and PE add-ons will make for the most performance oriented 328i.

Jon can u please advise if dynamic handling is necessary for 335 sports line.. I don't care about comfort handling

Although I did deliberate for a week or so while ordering my 335i M Sport, I decided not to get it after all...
I am quite satisfied with the handling/performance without it, particularly in Sport Mode.

This is all we've got for now...

The F10 5 Series program actually includes more goodies than the 3 Series (e.g., spoiler).

I suspect we'll see expanded offerings in the future if the program proves successful.

I've been so swamped helping buyers that I haven't had a chance to investigate aftermarket offerings.

I bet that next weekend at my East Coast Bimmerfest Show we'll see a whole bunch of cool new aftermarket offerings for F30!

The guy featured is what we surfers call a "Kook".

Interesting direction for BMW marketing. It will be a win provided the installations are provided timely and are well done.
