What should I replace on my engine?

Hey everyone, as some have read, i have a 1990 525i. Ordering my new taillights next week, and now onto the performance tweaking. Im not looking to make it into a racer, just to keep her running for another 10 years.

So i need a new timing belt, she has 353,000 miles on her and i don't know the last time it was changed. Figured better safe then new motor. But I've herd i should replace my water pump with that as well. Yay or nay? Anything els i should do while thats in the shop?

Im also gunna go get a tune up and inspection done. What type of spark plugs should i get? Brand and type thats best for her maybe?

Im going to replace all the hoses since i bet it has been a while, most have cracks and some just look about to break completely.

The battery I'm having a debate about. Ive been told normal store bought battery's are ok. But then I've been told go to the dealer and buy a BMW battery? What should i buy? Reasons why?

Anything els you guys recommend i will gladly appreciate. Thank you guys for all your time. It helps keeping my new to me baby goin.
