This may sound counterintuitive but there will soon be a rear-wheel drive (non xDrive) X3, built in Spartanburg, but not sold in the U.S.

WTF?

What is the world coming to. Personally, speaking from where I live where it's always rainy and miserable, I think we should be getting more CO2 in the air to warm things up a little :-)

JSpira if you happen to write an article comparing ownership experience of your previous cars please let us know. BTW I drove a 335d for several days and was puzzled by how different the overall car seemed compared to a 328.

Finally a Prius killer from BMW! I never wanted or needed the complex and heavy 4WD system and now they bring one out. Sadly we will probably never see the thing even though it is built right here. This car would keep me in the fold, else I am jumping ship to VAG for an economical diesel.

With the lower power there isn't much need for all wheel drive. ...and for winter conditions a set of winter tires would do.

That thing is slow and not well liked in Europe with a 1.8L turbo diesel.
Maybe fuel mileage will make up for being so slow.
Having driven diesels in Europe it is not a lot of fun to use cruise control meaning just keeping your foot planted to the floor the entire time you drive on the Autostrda or Autobahn...
