Rattling

I have noticed that a lot of BMWs rattle at lot after a while, mine has started as well, noise comes from wheels area like loose brake pads or something, what causes that and how can i stop the irritating rattling?? Thanks guys in advance

If it sounds like a beer can pinging around a dryer then it is likely a brake heat shield. They crack at the bolting points and start making noise. As far as a rattling noise (metal on metal) it would be best to get under there with a lever and start pushing things around a bit. Look for excessive play and you will likely find quite a few perished bushings (cracked, broken, dryed out). Go for a new poly set.

Thanks, I had my suspension done end of last year (Dec 2011) so will check the brake heat shield and push everything else around and see, thanks again!

take a look at your exhuast heat shields as well they are held on by small bolts usually the addition of a larger washer will fix that

The brake pads on my car rattle a little bit due to being improperly shimmed. I'd check that out on your car. There are plenty of things which can rattle on your car, but if your suspension was recently replaced, I'd put my money on brake pads and/or exhaust.
