New 7 here, love it!

Hello all

About a week ago I just took home a '12 740Li. The deals through BMW Financial were a steal, and I wasnt so impressed at the '13 as to wait for it. Still messing with the options, BMW Apps seems a bit overrated. Has Convenience, Lux Seating, Premium, 19"ers, and BMW apps. I didnt really like the wheels so I swapped them out with aftermarket ones, that have more of an OEM feel.

This is my first Bimmer, and hopefully, since its 4 model years old now, it'll be somewhat reliable.

The only thing that I want to change are the LED DRL's, I love the F10's bright white rings. I see Alpine makes a kit, and another from Xenonplanet. My only concern is the heat, anyone have experience with these?

Thanks

Congratulations! I LOVE my 2012 7 Series. While I'm a little bummed I do not have factory LED Corona Rings (Angel Eyes) or LED headlights, I really & honestly (not just because I do not have it), think the front end of the 2009-2012 7 Series looks more elegant and fits the 7 better. So many of the 2013 changes feel and looked "forced to me...while the 2007 & 2008 last model 7 Series changes were needed and made the car look just awesome!! Enjoy your ride!!

I assume you leased? You can't go wrong by doing that! C'mon - show us some pics of that gorgeous interior.

The rims are Donington(sp?) by TSW, they were pretty inexpensive. I ordered the BMW Roundel Caps, so this week when I get them I'll throw them on and get rid of the TSW caps. I also got rid of the run flats, yuck!

Yes - hedging my bets, first bimmer, and a bit apprehensive about the reliability. Like I said, this is now a 4 year old update, and most of the tech I see is a carry over from the previous generation. *knock on wood*

Yea! Been trying to get around to that, havent had the time. I was using the rear/side power shades in the mean time. Seems like they'll be useless when I get the tint...

I agree with you, I saw the pics online of the revised front fascia, and wasnt really impressed. Like you said looks a bit of a forced change, to qualify to call it an update. I fell in love with the 2008/9 MY when I first saw it, so much more aggressive than the geriatric S Class. Its the only part I wish I had was the LED rings, but I can be patient and wait for a quality solution. I messaged a few people and all gave negative reviews of Alpine kits, and the owners' customer service, so I'll continue looking elsewhere.

Don't be bummed, new e92/e93 M3 owners are still stuck with headlamps from 2007.

Just a FYI... I have the AlpineMSS kits on three of my 4 cars and I love them... with no issues. They have been installed for about 7 months now.

Congrats on your new ride, it looks sweet. I picked mine up in May and feel that I got a fair shake also. The 12’s that are still on the lots have “Sale” or “Managers Special” tags hanging from the rear view mirror. I didn’t see enough in the 13’s to wait. Have you thought of debagging the car?

hey there
looks sweet
im thinking of replacing my 335i with 750i 2009
i buy it from auction so around 10k less then certified pre-owned
is the 2009 reliable(i buy it with one more year warranty and get extended after market to 70 or 100k miles)?
i think buying it like that when it looses the 50% almost already is better the lease
lease you basicly pay the loss for them.
would appreciate any comments from owners

Thanks

I've ordered the 2013 F02 740Li xDrive and I'm thinking of removing the badge, although the ones I saw with badges in the BMW photos looked pretty cool. I'm going to wait until ED and see what I notice driving around Germany first.
