I need to borrow water pump holding tool

I've been beating this bolt long enough and its not breaking seize, looking for someone that will loan me their holder either today (8/21/2012) or tomorrow (8/22/2012) hopefully I won't need it long. I'm in Escondido, CA 92025 so the closer you are the better. Please someone have this tool! lol, and thank you in advance

Tried the square shaft screwdriver?
The oil filter wrench?
vice grip the pulley?


Sorry I don't have the tool.

I've considered vice gripping the pulley, but I don't want to damage the pulley (just in case the water pump isn't the real issue)

DONT VICE GRIP THE PULLY

you will damage the rim of it no matter how to do it. if its a plastic pully which come of them are it might even snap it.

^That's why it was last on my list of things to try.

The square shaft screwdriver trick worked for the 'ol M20. Just put it in between two of the four bolts holding the waterpump pulley to the waterpump and brace the handle against something.

OP, keep in mind that it has reverse threads so you will need to turn the wrench clockwise to loosen.

I wont lie to you, i think i've earned my cred as a backyard mech here, but i clamped down on one of the four bolts holding the water pulley on with channel locks and it's worked more than once.

Yes yes yes you can damage the bolt and strip it yada yada but you can also do that with a socket and ratchet on any bolt/nut if you're not careful. I just clamped down real real tight on the pliers and applied as much pressure as i could to the 32mm wrench. That sledgehammer trick is b.s. The screwdriver trick didnt work for me, my screwdrivers just flexed.
