Sales Tax Credit? + two other questions

Hi,

A dealer has mentioned to me that there might be sales tax credit towards year end. Does anyone have any more info on if and when exactly this might happen? Is this dependent on State or Dealership? I live in Texas where you have to pay tax for the value of the entire car even in a lease so a tax credit makes a huge difference in monthly payments. If there is indeed tax credit in year end, I'm thinking of going all in and ordering almost a full option 328 with M Sport Line, Tech Package, Lighting Package, Dynamic Handling Package, Premium Package, Driver Assistance Package, Parking Assistant, Harmon Kardon, Paddle Shifters, etc.

Also, any recent news on whether BMW has done/is doing anything about the vibrating steering wheels? Is it still unsolvable?

Does getting a dynamic handling package affect/reduce/eliminate the vibration at all?

Thanks.

I don't think there's such a thing as a sales tax credit. I'm in Texas too, and the state is going to get its money one way or the other. Either the dealer has to pay it (as some kind of promo) or you're going to.

BMWFS does offer sales tax credits two times a year on leases only usually. The end of November is when it typically starts and usually nothing is excluded bc they are trying to boost sales to close the year...

DigitalMPower,

You mean BMWFS already had a sales tax credit this year? When was this?

^^^ it was either in June or July but a lot and I mean almost everything was excluded bc they were focusing it on moving SUVs.

They normally do it that way so they can offer it on almost everything in Nov and Dec to boost year end sales

^^^ thanks a lot for the info. I better order soon as in next week to take advantage of the possible tax credits by year end. Is the tax credit going to exempt Texas people from paying sales taxes at all or just partially offset the tax? Do you know?

I was told by both Lexus and BMW CA that they expect the sales tax credit as usual for the December sales push.

To those of you in the Metroplex, some of the dealers advertise the tax credits during Ed Wallace 5 hour Saturday show on 820 AM, as well as in the car sales section of the newspapers. Two weeks ago it was the VW dealer in Louisville.
