What dealer installed options do you recomend?

Ordered a 328i X-drive Sport Line w/Tech package, December delivery. I live in Michigan and when the vehicle arrives, the dealer will show me all the dealer installed goodies...Black out grills, all weather mats, clear bra, and any other array of dress up items. The two I am considering are the extended wheel warranty and all season mats. Are the factory 18" sport rims soft? Has anyone bent a rim on a F30? I am willing to spend some money on some dealer items, which ones should be really considered?

Is it only port installed or can it be installed after you take delivery?

Does the exhaust make a noticeable difference in performance and sound? Is it worth an extra 0.1 -0.2 in 0-60 times? how much louder and how is the tone?

it can be installed after you take delivery, but if you port install it they will roll it into the lease.

This was going to be a purchase, not a lease. Any options would have to maintain any factory warranties and last long as I will keep car at least 100K miles.

you can buy the extended warranty at any time as long as the car is still covered by the factory warranty. i would skip it until its closer to the end of the factory coverage-- you never know whats going to happen in the next 4 years.

The extended warranty would be a consideration at the 50-60K mile point, no reason to get it too early, THANKS!

not that late... strongly recommend the bmw factory extended warranty... you must be still covered by the factory warranty (before 4 years or 50k miles, whichever comes first)

sorry, misread your original post. the roadhazard warranty for the wheels/tires-- depends on how much it costs. bmw increased the sidewall profile of the F30s wheels over the E90-- the sidewall height for 18s is now the same as the E90s sidewall height for 17s. on NYC roads i never had issues with my 17s. dont ask about what happened with my 19s. i suspect that the F30 18s will be much less prone to damage than the E90s.
that being said, good way to see if its worth it, find out the replacement cost for a tire. if your car came with pirellis, its about 166 per tire. i've seen the five year policy for road hazard run 1500-- enough to replace nine damaged tires.

I believe it is $1295 for the tire coverage. I do not know what a new 18" sport rim costs but I believe the Sport Line has increased speed limiter with some R225/45R18 run flats ($$). I am not one to mix and match tires. In 35 years of driving I have only bent two rims, they were both some Saab Viggen rims, notorious for their soft composite . that being said, I wanted to know if anyone else had encountered bent rims on their new F30?

The reason why I will never buy into that tire replacement warranty is because the one time I did and tried to use it they denied my claim. I hit a pot hole that bent my BBS stock wheels and damaged the tire. They called in an expert who claimed that the damage was not consistent with a pothole. How he came up with that I will never know.

End of the day I paid about $1000 to replace the wheel and another $100 for a new tire out of pocket.
