65 vs 66

My 6'3" son and my elderly parents really appreciate the extra room, proving e66 owners are compassionate, caring and more empathetic than the shorties.

He doesnt care about an extra 5 inches in the back seat because he is never in the back and besides he has an extra 5 inches in his pants which is all he needs (The older guy buying the E66 at this point in his life will take an extra 5 inches anywhere since any extra inches in the pants is useless to him at this point in his life )

Using an example around numbers and size, ill chose an analogy that we can all relate to.
1. In a school district, the number of long yellow buses surpasses by far the number of short yellow buses.

2. If you look at size alone, of course the short yellow bus is more maneuverable and could be considered sportier, yet most people would prefer to ride the more bulkier, longer alternative even though the functionality of both modes of transportation is still the same. Which is, to move people from point A to point B. What it boils down to is the WHO, (ie the who it moves).

There are those that ride the short bus, IE E65, vs those that ride the long bus..E66.

This thread has brought in the lolz. And we are still at an impasse.

Your analogy makes no sense. I will give you some credit by not explaining why it makes no sense. I trust you can figure it out on your own.

Honestly I previously own a E65 an E66 at the same time. In fact I still have the paper work for the E65. I must agree with DFEL. I bought the E65 1st back in late 07 an I enjoyed it. At the time I had no Ideal they had a longer version as I knew nothing about these cars until one pulled up beside me at the gas station. I ended up walking over to the car an that's when I took notice to the "LI". A few months later I went an got a good deal on the E66 so I had both for a few years an must say I enjoyed them. When it was time to give one up I gave up the "I" because I have kids an very big family members.

CCCP where did I mention cost in my statement I said people that drive E65 drive one because they WANT to. Prices of E65\E66 are virtually the same new. The 5.5 inches of leg room is not what makes the car big. The car is a big car in short wheelbase form and even bigger in long wheel base. I have never had anyone have a problem with leg room in my car...there is still more leg room than you need. If they made the E6X in limo would you guys drive that around as well because its bigger? lol .

Most people buy these cars..add rims...lower them etc...obviously youre looking for a sporty look and the E65 just naturally looks more sporty whether you guys will admit it or not. The extra 5 inches is enough to make the E66 look long and akward unless it is very tastefully modded.

I think it's up to the driver. Before I purchased my E65(S) I was told to drive both. The E65 is a much more performance ride, because of the shorter wheel base. The E66 was more luxurious, comfortable ride. It's up to you what you like in a driving experience. Look into the S, sport option if you like performance...

I like both but why clown on each other about which one is better. I'm pretty sure everybody like certain things about each that's why we have one. I'm 6'4" and Im comfortable in my i. If I was to be sitting in the back and someone else was driving which I'm pretty sure would never happen, I'm pretty sure I would much rather have the extra leg room and be in an Li. But being that I'm the main driver, an i is cool with me! I think everyone's car up here are sexy and we should be clowning the "others" Mercedes (cough)! Side note: I think Mercedes are sexy too! I'm off my soap box!

As it should be. Info past on and everyone gets a laugh now and then. That makes for a good site... Good people on here, with a wealth of real information. Not out of a book, but from personal experiences.

im 6'5 and like the i better..better handling,easier to park,looks better since shorter wheel base but thats just my opinion,e65 better on gas,less weight ...e65 is a big comfortable luxurious flagship but e66 is even bigger/more luxurious....

The E66 is what the 7 was meant to be. Tell me this - when they show off the flagship, is it the E65 or the E66? The F01 or the F02? Let me answer that for you - it's the E66/F02. If you want a short, sporty car, please tell me why you didn't buy an M5 or an M6? David had the right idea

Most people who don't own a 7 and even some of those who own one couldn't tell the difference easily if an I was badged as an LI so keep quiet with your nonsense. The difference in the length is not always that apparent
