Opinions on deal?

WI just bought what I think was a fairly rare opportunity. Not because of the car, but because of the mileage. I just bought a loaded 2004 530i AT with only 26,xxx miles. It was bought in late 2003 by an older gentleman that drove it roughly 3,000 per year. It was regularly serviced and come with a totally clean history / no accidents or paint work. It remained a one owner car until I purchased it yesterday.
The car had everything. Sport package, Premium Package, Xenon, sun shades, etc. The sticker was over $57k new.
All that being said, I bought it for $14,700 with a fresh smog and oil change at the time of purchase. On a scale of 1-10, the car is an 8.5-9 inside and out and I am very picky. Again, the car had less than 27k miles when I picked it up.
How good of a deal was this, because I feel like I nearly stole the car considering condition and mileage.;

Happy to be part of this group.

Patric

Drive it like you stole it! JK. That is a great deal especially if it was regularly maintained.

Regularly serviced? So it's only had 1 oil change? No paint work? You've walked it with a paint meter?

The problem w/ low mileage BMWs and the recommended service is the oil may never get changed.

Despite low mileage, there are still alot of common problems that will develop over time.

It does sound like a good deal but I would suggest a PPI to ensure it's really in the shape you think.

It actually has had 7 oil changes and it did have an inspection. I also had several checks done to ensure no paint work or accidents. I addition to a Carfax, I had a friend at a dealership run the check that only they can run that is much more intensive than a Carfax. Inspeaction and history checks all came back clean. Even brake flushes had been done. The guy did not drive the car much, but he did regularly maintain it.

Also, I got to see the car straight from the owner prior to any clean up. Nothing was hidden or cleaned up for sale. You can tell if a car has been cleaned up for sale or if it has been kept clean throughout its life. I just think the guy wanted something different and decided to trade it in. I have a friend at the dealer that allowed me to pick it up for what they gave the guy on trade.

Feels like a brand new car.

Sounds like an excellent deal, good luck these cars are ultimate driving machines but I'd say they also require alot of maintenance and care!
