Mein Auto: 1989 BMW 325i
Crank Gear

I have problem with my BMW 323is. Everytime I switch it to second gear it always crank and I always go straight to 3rd , 4th & 5th. I need some advice.

Do you mean that it clunks?

If so you could have a bad synchro ... If so, I believe you need to replace the bell housing of the trans... Yikes!

You'd need to remove the tranny to repair a synchro, that won't be cheap. The labor for repairing the synchro will make it cheaper just to buy a used tranny to replace it with. Or....you could just skip 2nd.
