Transmission Slipping?

My 335d is the first automatic I've had in several years. I've noticed some behavior which seems odd. It feels like the transmission is slipping when I accelerate normally from 30 mph or so - like coming out of a corner. The car accelerates, but the revs climb to 2500 rpm and then slowly drop down 200 or 300 rpm - and it did not change gears. Is this normal?

I would say not. The ZF tries to lock the torque converter quite soon (less than a second) after it completes a shift IME. Does it perform the same in sport mode or when forcing a shift with the paddles/shift lever?

I seen the same. On mine it is the traction control computer taking over control. Turning OFF the traction control solve that but you can fish tail out of a turn.

Only thing I've noticed with the programming is that it will hold 4th gear up to 2k rpms in some cases while driving in the city. Must be emissions related. I've never felt slip or turbo lag for that matter.

It climbs quickly to 2500? As in like it is in neutral and free revving. Because that is what I'd normally call a slipping transmission and not a good thing for it to be doing.

If it's only happening out of turns and you are still driving around on RFT's i am willing to bet it's your traction control. Our cars dont have an lsd, that combined with lots of low end tprque and crappy all season RFT's is a perfect recipe for some wheel spin coming out of a turn. Try this,,,, push your DTC button and hold it down until the circle w/an arrow comes up on your dash. Now go drive your car and take some turns similar to how you did before. If your car still does as you describe dealer it!
