Interbrand likes to give the world's top companies a brand value, or a mix of their on-the-ground fiscal performance with an estimate of the premium they can ask through name alone. While there are a lot of traditional names in the consulting company's 2012 list, the surprise this year is just how aggressively technology has invaded the top of the charts.

I work for one of those companies

Back in May market research firm Millward Brown calculated that BMW was the most valuable automotive brand in the world at $24.62 billion. Toyota was number two at $21.78 billion.

It is interesting to see Honda dropping. Used to very much be a Honda fan, since my first Acura (used 1990 Acura legend). After owning a modern Honda, and knowing other people with modern Hondas, they have clearly lost their way.

I owned a 03 TL and loved it. 159k I put on her and wanted to replace her with another TL. The new TL have gone cheap on everything but the price was the same. I am not even going to go into the looks if the outside because well you know. My friend owns a 2008 accord and says the same thing. They have indeed lost their way.
