parking job

saw this when dropped off my wife's car on Monday.
Takes some skill.

This reminded me of my favorite parking picture that I took in Amsterdam on my last ED. This is not my car but looks like a pretty tough parking job with not much clearance with the poles and a drop off to a canal on the one side. Don't screw up!!!

The white one is mine. ;-) Hoping it leaves Munich soon.

Jah, saw that last week when I dropped off... The nice LogInOut lady had several of us follow her to a remote lot to park our cars, instead of trying that maneuver.

Hope they found our cars when the truck arrived!

Yep. It was pretty sweet.

They were gone in the PM...either the truck arrived or they moved them to a remote location.

I'd bet they're not quite that close -- the stevedores load those puppies FAST, and in order to secure them they'd need a bit more room between the cars. Also I wouldn't think you'd want them too close, in case rough sees got the cars "jiggling" on their suspensions.

Are they just parked side by side on the ship? Is there any kind of protective material between them in case of "jiggling"?

I had understood them to be tied down exceptionally tightly, and they use suspension blocks to reduce jiggling.

That said, they're probably a bit further apart but not much. You certainly can't get out of either side (I believe they pull in, driver gets out, and the next car comes in right next to it so driver could no longer get out).

Here's an article about toyotas and other cars--4" overhead, 6" between cars. Pretty interesting how they orchestrate the unloading.
