auto close feature malfunctioning

the automatic trunk will not close when the red trunk close button is depressed. Instead of closing the trunk attempts to further open. i'm leaning toward a bad module as the problem but if anyone can advise me, it would be appreciated. recently the vehicle had a new battery installed but i've been told that has no affect on the trunk closing feature. thanks.

Hi,

I stumbled upon a thread about this a few months ago, sometimes the rotation angular sensor just needs adjusting, have a search on this forum, it is possible that the module can go bad, I recall someone replaced the power fet on the PCB.

You may need to reset the module. If you need help please pm me. You can call me and well go through the trouble shooting.

Thanks to Smiley27 for the response on how to get my automatic trunk feature working. I would like to attempt resetting my module. Any directions or advice in how to reset the trunk closing module on a 04 745li would be appreciated. Thanks for the advicel.
