Stayed at both of these hotels.

Just remember in Europe not only does your dollar not go very far but even in euro rates you pay WAY MORE for a comparable hotel here in the states...

We thought this last time we'd skimp and save a few bucks and stay in Paris at the Le Meridien...we checked out after one night, what a zoo-especially at breakfast I felt like I was at the low end Disneyland hotel on the busiest day of the year...I ended up forking over an extra few hundred euro for the last minute reservation when we moved to the Westin Vendome...too bad the valet damaged my car but I'll still stay there and park myself next time.

Got a question. If we are going from Munich to Florence, which city is worth staying at on the way? Innsbruck, Bolzano, or Trento?

We enjoyed the Le Meridian, Munich as well. Breakfast was a little crazy but the spread was impressive. It was much calmer at the Westin, Milan which was our stop over point between Munich and Florence. Lake Como would be another great option. We stayed in Milan as we went to see the Last Supper by Davinchi. Info about Munich, Milan and Florence is in our trip report.
