I always found it interesting that during the Gulf War he wore a watch on each wrist . . . and they were different watches. Seemed to be a careful man who took all of the reasonable precautions to ensure success of mission.

Yeah, I read that too yesterday. Singing with the nurses and doctors. If he'll survive the next couple of days, he'd probably be out of the danger zone. Hopefully this is not a short temporary recovery and he will pull through.

The ICU is a hard place to be for an old guy.

The amount of drugs they use there is staggering.
Look up ICU psychosis.

Attitude and the will to live counts for a lot.

Schwarzkopf was also an animal lover. He is well remember at CSU for his support of the veterinary cancer research center there.

Gen. Schwarzkopf was a "soldier's soldier," a West Point graduate before the liberals took hold of West Point's curriculum (and the Marine Corp, basic Army training). Regretfully, military training is less rigorous now due to ridiculous restrictions imposed by "pansy" liberal bleeding hearts who want to turn military training into boy scout camps with constant "mental health" counseling, less physical demands, reduced disciplinary punishment, and foo foo "cultural appreciation education" for potential enemy country assignments. (Don't sweat the bomb belts, just be culturally correct with the natives).

Bull*hit. All this "political correctness" training has taken away from their basic combat training and skills when there is a limited amount of time to train a soldier. They are supposed to be well trained combat KILLERS with combat skills...NOT DIPLOMATS.

Schwarzkopf knew this and forged an effective army of highly motivated killers to drive Iraq out of Kuwait...and he did it well. Heck, he had the Iraqi's surrendering in droves to helicopter pilots.

All we have today are "politically correct" military commanders, hand picked by Obama to bow down to Karzai's corrupt government. Say one bad thing about Karzai and YOU'RE OUT. What does that tell you?

German magazine mistakenly publishes Bush obituary

BERLIN (AP) - Germany's respected news weekly Der Spiegel mistakenly published an obituary Sunday for former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, hours after a family spokesman said the 88-year-old was recovering from illness.

Bush was hospitalized in Houston Nov. 23 for treatment of a bronchitis-related cough and moved to intensive care on Dec. 23 after he developed a fever. On Saturday, spokesman Jim McGrath said Bush was moved out of intensive care into a regular hospital room again after his condition improved.

The unfinished obituary appeared on Der Spiegel's website for only a few minutes Sunday before it was spotted by Internet users and removed.

In it, the magazine's New York correspondent described Bush as "a colorless politician" whose image only improved when it was compared to the later presidency of his son, George W. Bush.

"All newsrooms prepare obituaries for selected figures," the magazine said on its Twitter feed. "The fact that the one for Bush senior went live was a technical mistake. Sorry!"

Mistaken publications of obituaries aren't as rare as you might expect. A recent example is of Dave Swarbrick, the British folk/rock violinist, who was killed off mistakenly by the Daily Telegraph in April 1999 when they reported that his visit to hospital in Coventry had resulted in his death. He did at least get the opportunity to read a rather favourable account of his life, not something we all get to do, and to deliver the gag "It's not the first time I have died in Coventry".

Now Hillary Clinton is in the hospital with a blood clot near her brain.

Ex-Mayor, Ed Koch, died early this morning at the age of 88. RIP



Ed Koch was famous for his "How Am I Doing?" question. He go'd out on the streets to greet and talk to New Yorkers, asking them "How am I doing?". Stayed active, sharp and outspoken to his last days. Probably the most beloved Mayor in the history of NYC.

It's a sad day for NYC.
