Center console

I have a 1999 528i. How can i adjust the center armrest. When i bought it the armrest was slid all the way forward and i cant figure out how to slide it back to the original

It should just slide, i have a 98 (pretty sure 97 -2000 are pretty much the same car) if its like mine it just slides, no buttons or levers or anything. So if it wont slide somethins broken under there. I dont know about anyone else but when i first got my car i spent about an hour trying to figure out how to open it.

Alright thanks ill check it out later tonight when I pick it up( blown head gasket). But I believe something is broke because I tried everything

Mine just blew too. Im not sure how, it. Never got hot, im thinking i did it a couple months ago when my water pump went out and it just started small and slowly got worse, im trying to decide right now between just buying a used engine or pulling it apart and chancing the block being cracked or stripped.
