Poll.. Should the fuel pump issue stop me from buying 2009 used (not CPO) 335i?

I am looking at an 09 335i from a reputable seller on Ebay, however I am concerned about the fuel pump issue. How bad is it and in your opinions ( which I highly value ) would you buy or wait for a 2010-11?

No, it should not. Since the recall I have seen no new posts about failing fuel pumps. While I'm sure there are some the numbers appear to have decreased significantly.

Likewise the pump is warranted for 10 years / 120K miles so you'll have a warranty on that particular issue for some time to come.

There is no longer a "fuel pump issue".
If the car checks out good otherwise, do not worry about the fuel pump.

No. I had a 2007 and never any issue. I'd think if a car was affected the fuel pump would have made it known by now. But if not the fuel pump is still under warranty for affected cars.

In my opinion, which, remember, you asked for, you should SEARCH.

Yes, I'm using the word: SEARCH

Why? Because it is an innovative way to bring up references to your query without annoyance, repetition, or seeming to be without knowledge of same.

Develop your skills, Marleyboo....whataminute....you've been here awhile, what am I saying?

My abject apologies. Surely this is a feeler for new opinion about HPFP's. Old opinions are, of course, readily available; I'm certain you've seem same.

If I have a 2007 335 coupe with over 130 000 km do I still get the recall? I did a search and was not able to find it.

120,000 miles is longer than 130K KM...

If you meant 130,000 miles, then I think you would be too late to get the HPFP replaced.

All these +1.

The only recent references I'm seeing to HPFP on all the e9x boards is questions like this....

Well, there is one source of info you should seek out.

A compendium of knowledge even greater than a collection of Internet forum geeks.

An organization that might, just might, possess the information you desire!!

YOUR BMW DEALER

Nope.

The car is too good to pass up even if there was a still chance of a hpfp failure after the recall.
