Auto dimming rear view mirror

Is there a way to turn off the inside rear view mirror dimming on 2013 X3 28i? What are the three buttons on the bottom left side of the mirror for?

Also, can I increase the volume of the ding ding when I lock the door or unlock it?

This car is making me feel totally stupid.

The 3 buttonw on the bottom left are the garage door opener (Homelink) buttons. There are instructions for programming them to work with your openers. I don't know about turning off dimming or changing the ding volume.

Thanks. I had forgotten about the garage door opener.

The ding volume can be changed in the idrive menu. I believe it is under vehicle settings, then the sound option. I'll check next time I'm in it if you don't find it.
