E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

not everything is made in germany. i put new seat foam in and it was made in poland.

I purchased an oem last month. It looked the same and was also made in Hungary. This is definitely OEM. There would be no point in making a knockoff in Hungary when it could be done better & cheaper in China.

Cheaper in china? Yes. Better? Since when? We avoid that made in china crap like the plaque around here. Buy something made in china its either going to be poorly made, have poor fitment, or give you some sort of exotic lead poisoning.
