tire pressure monitor system (tpms)

I have recently purchased after market wheels that came off a 2003 745li. These wheels
were custom made for that vehicle. I have a 2006 750 li. The wheels are 22 inches with perelli 295/25zr22. The wheels were already mounted so i just had a tire shop switch them. Now my problem is my tpms light comes on. I called the shop to have my sensors
taken out my factory wheels and have them put in the after market wheels. the shop owner said the sensors can be removed but since the tires are so low profile the sensor could be damaged if installed. Point blank. Is that bs? Or if true is there any way to turn off the system until factory wheels are re-installed?

we are fully stocked with all TPMS for all models of BMW, no issues with our TPMS

its very true...they are made of porcelain or something similar and don't hold up well when swapped. i took the sensors out of my style 95's early this year and they broke 2 of em...replaced em at the dealer for like 80$/each
