Haha. I have faith in you. I found that I became a much better driver in this car once I got rid of the "oh God, I'm running around town holding $100,000 over a fire, and one F-up is going to be the end of it all" and started to treat it as a car. Admittedly, I can't always be that nonchalant about it, but I at least remember that that is why I pay dearly for insurance

Was in Austin this weekend. With a drop in temperature, my TPM light came on, so I went to the BMW shop to get air in the tires. While there, they gave me a paging device to call me when my car was ready. I decided to use it as a measuring stick to check ground clearance on 1) a basic 6, 2) an M-Sport, and 3) an M6. I have no idea what the actual length was, but just wanted to see if there was a difference between the cars.

Findings:
The M-Sport was slightly lower in each of the corners than the Non-M-Sport.
The M6 was significantly higher than the M-Sport. When comparing corners, the M6 was two fingers higher than the M-Sport. In the center of the air intake, the M6 ground clearance was more than 2" higher from what I could tell.

Lowest: M-Sport
Higher: Non-M-Sport
Highest: M6

Awesome. Great job thom - did not notice this myself. BMW specs confirm some of that too. The M6 is described as 0.3 in higher to the roof than a non-sport xDrive. Some of that may be the roof, which has a Zagato-ish bubble/channel but I imagine it's largely the ride height.

BTW the M6 tires have an 0.5 in larger diameter than the non-M6, which gives you 0.25 in of that overall height difference. Overall good news for me!

Also, I just noticed that the elevation of the M6 front spoiler is more variable than the M Sport, I think? The center section is higher and the outer sections lower on the M6 - to give a more aggressive look. I wonder if that impacted your measurements too...

Just read we're changing our base of measurements in the US to the "Thom system" all based on his fingers, toes, and shoe size.

This system also allows you to divide by zero. It's a progressive change, but I'm sure as hell not going to dispute Thom's ruling

Thom once got hit by a 6er Coupe. Noticing who he had hit, the driver tried to flee the scene by flooring the gas, however, Thom was not having it. He effortlessly prevented this escape by holding on to the rear bumper. The damage caused by this almost led to the car being totaled. BMW had other plans...

Today, we know this design as the 6er Gran Coupe.

jus wonder what happens when my 22"s go on- im def not gona lower suspension !!

If my car was any lower I wouldn't have a front bumper. Maybe it's Houston, but I rub the black flaps everyday on something and many times I can't make an approach. My neighbor has a Ferrari California and he and I share a driveway. He can drive out of his garage onto the street front ways. I go out backwards because I would take the bumper off. I'm sure overhang is the culprit but that is the only real flaw that I have found with the car's design (rear seat excluded).

I've definitely scraped a couple of times, but they've been gentle scrapes. The car definitely takes getting used to (my last vehicle was an X6 50i, which had no such problem).
