E90/E92/E93 M3 (2008 - 2014)
4th generation E90 M3 sedan, E92 M3 coupe and E93 M3 convertible. The last of the naturally aspirated M3s, powered by a 4.0 liter V8 making 414hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

does m3 have auto start function

were engine shuts off at stop and restarts when you give it gas, hopefully it is only for lesserBMW, if it has it, has anyone had dealer program it so it does not have to be pressed each time,

All MY2011+ M3 have the ASS. It can be coded to be off or to remember its last state.

There is also an on/off button on the dashboard to turn the function off but it reactivates once you manually turn the engine off and on again from the starter button.

Ahh, I did not know that. It is a big plus to have it off by default. Here it is on unless you are in M-mode or manually switch it off. Makes for some curious looks from drivers in the car beside you as your engine fires up when the lights change. Almost makes you want to shout out, "Honest, I did not stall... It is part of the design.....".
Thanks for the info. Maybe it's time to have a quiet little chat with my service manager.......
