In the car navigation you can store addresses from your contact list into the navigation menu. That's the only way I've been able to navigate to a contact address.

It sounds as though they replaced the Combox or whatever the control unit is, but the Bluetooth module was kept in place, which should be fine.

All I was told was that the iDrive was replaced. I noticed my Sirius pre-sets were gone, my map points were gone, but my phone Bluetooth records were still paird and in the car. We'll see how it goes.
Presets are stored in the CIC so those are gone once the CIC is gone. Phone contacts are uploaded once to the Combox via Bluetooth from your phone and then saved in the CIC. Any subsequent pairing will look to changes in the phonebook and upload those as well.

From your description is sounds like the iDrive was replaced. Hope it's fixed and problems are gone.

Correct... the Combox was not replaced. The Combox is a separate module from the CIC (replaced).

Thank you. I am used to my E90 without navigation. I misspoke.

Angry iDrive on/off issues

Looks like BMW hasn't yet fixed this issue. I recently bought a 2012 328i with 10k miles on it and the iDrive system shuts down, then boots up, and then cycles off and on continuously. Sometimes it works fine. Disappointing since it's a factory demo that's never been plated, and I've only had it for a week. Based on some of the older posts that I've read, seems like this problem has existed for some time. You'd think BMW would have this kink worked out by now. Already scheduled an appointment to have it "diagnosed".
