Seat Belt Chime
Hi Folks, how do I turn off the chime the car makes when you take your seat belt off? It's driving me crazy, it seems to happen even if i'm parked but have not exited the car yet....

Shut down the motor. Why would you get out of the car with the motor running?

You take your seat belt off before you come to a stop. Don't do that. Wait until you get to the parking spot before you take your belt off (the vehicle is still moving). My wife does this when I drop her off in front of a store sometimes and it drives me nuts. The passenger chime does turn off as you lift off the seat however. It's just nuts that I never realize she took it off until I'm about to come to a complete stop when the chime starts.

It can be coded out, but it's easier (and cheaper) to do as suggested above.

Find someone in your area experienced with NCS Expert and you can get a bunch of things coded - for example I have: Digital speedo in my gauge cluster, I can raise AND lower my windows with my key fob (typically only available in Europe), I can auto fold my mirrors with key fob, if you don't have real time traffic info in the NAV this can be enabled on any E60 with at least a 2007.1 NAV disc, I also have my fogs enabled with highbeams.

Here is a list of what he coded for me, these are based on build dates, but they are pretty generic - differences would be if you have LM1 vs LM2 and CCC vs CIC. >> Disable legal disclaimer >> Enable welcome lights (LM2 only) >> Next source skips AM Band >> Climate Seat one touch shortcut >> LCI AE stay at full brightness with low beams on >> Enable/disable DRL on pre-LCI >> Turn signals on (reduced brightness) with parking lights or low beam >> Soft/Hard fade on/off any external lighting (LM2 only) >> Allow high beam with fogs >> Enable/disable cold/warm/iDrive checking for bulbs >> Disable eyebrow >> Enable BFD (flashing brakes when braked hard) >> Double flash hazard light >> Digital speedometer >> Cluster always on (default on Ms) >> Disable continuous door gong with key in ignition >> Close windows and sunroof with key >> Disable double pull to unlock (unlocking mechanism is tied to key fob's setting in iDrive) >> Always show fan setting even in Auto >> Blinkers in HUD >> Auto-fold mirrors with key >> Lower sensitivity for auto headlight >> Real time traffic information in NAV +$20 (requires 2007 or newer NAV disk) >> Pathway lighting via key

pjinca:
When you mention " Real time traffic information in NAV" is this what you are referring to? It is an up-to-date list of traffic problems and depending on your settings, the nav routing will consider these problem areas.

Yes, that is what I am referring to, also if you look at your map again the little black arrows will display traffic on a given roadway, the closer they are together the heavier the traffic.
