Slipping Trans Road Trip????!!!!

Hey guys, I want to purchase a 97 auto M3 but need to drive it 1k miles back home. Do you think it would make a 15 hr drive with a slipping trans?

Does the trans actually slip? I bought a 97 M3 automatic and the previous owner said the tranny slipped between 2 and 3 gears. I had it in for a replacement tranny and found out it was the Torque converter and not the tranny.

Oh ok thanks for the advice. How could I tell if it were the torque converter. Also it has 220,000 miles on it. You think it is worth it if I can get for 1500?

Hell yea it's worth it, is the check engine light on ? Have the check engine light checked and under the heading on the readout Transmission (EGS) it will say (111) 6F converter lock - up clutch excessive slip
